Giulio Confalonieri

Born in Milan in 1926, the designer and graphic artist was one of the leading representatives of the "Swiss School" in Italy in the 1950s. He worked in editorial, advertising and corporate graphics and is characterised by a style with a strong visual impact and dynamic composition based on the contrast between positive and negative elements. He helped shape the image of important companies and institutions. His numerous honours include the gold medal of the 11th and 15th Milan Triennale and the Typomundus Diploma of Honour in New York, awarded "for an outstanding contribution to the development of 20th century graphic art". His works can be seen in various international art museums. He passed away in 2008.
