With the skillful and creative use of folding, designers shape fabrics and create clothes like art sculptures. Plissé is shaped from a folded sheet of paper and made by Alessi as a beautiful sartorial object. The folds shape the form, mold it, structure it - because a form without folds is just a volume without form. The folds transform simple two-dimensional sheets into three-dimensional objects."
