The result of painstaking research developed by David Chipperfield on the different types of folding chairs made historically and in recent times, the project focused on a few, but substantial, elements. Piana is composed of three components that revolve around a single axis. Very robust, it integrates easily into heterogeneous settings and is extremely compact when closed. Formal simplicity, rigor and precision: Piana's visual language is indicative, in its simplicity, of the function and role of the object itself.
